Josh's Dream Chair

Josh uses a foot cycle in physical therapy with his physical therapist at school. Josh’s PT recommended that he continue to use one while at home; however, there was no recommendation on how to use the foot cycle at home. Because the access and environment he has in the school’s PT room is not the same at home, Josh had no other chair to sit in besides his wheelchair. When Josh's PT recommended he exercise his legs with a stationary cycle, Josh tried, but it was tough! The foot cycle unit kept creeping away, his knees bumped each other, and it was challenging to stay sitting upright.

So, we worked together to design Josh’s dream chair. With this chair, Josh can get a workout, then detach the foot cycle, adjust the seat, and have a regular chair to do homework, watch TV or game.
